Adriana Michima | Michima Photography About Dark art
Adriana Michima is well known for her dark, mysterious landscapes which encompass ominous and often vulnerable figures and themes. Her concepts involve life, death, and pain which are then presented in a manner which is seen as both macabre and beautiful. Her concepts are more personal and some stem from her own struggles with depression and childhood abandonment. However, her imagery often finds its way to connect with her viewers on their own personal levels. Her use of the color red has been said to change the way color blind individuals see red.

With a background in traditional art forms such as drawing and oil painting, Adriana later decided to go to art school and received her Bachelors of Fine Art from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in 2014. She got involved in photography during her fine art education and delved into video production in late 2017.
